The 10th 'Tiatr Day', organised by Kala Academy was celebrated amidst
presence of galaxy of tiatr artistes at Dinananth Mangueshkar Kala Mandir,
this evening. The editor of Vavraddeancho Ixtt, Fr Peter Raposo was the
chief guest on the occasion.

In his speech, Fr Raposo said that tiatr was an important centre of Konkani

Stating that new tiatr writers should choose social subjects in their

Goa, he said the young tiatrists should tackle social subjects in their
tiatrs.

Tiatr being a prominent form of entertaining-cum-educating the people, Fr
Raposo said the state government should accord industry status to it. He
also demanded financial support from the state government to tiatr for its
overall development.

hands of Fr Raposo included Domingos Inacio Sebastiao Vaz, Joaquim Caetano
Rato (Jack Bandis), Francisco Xavier de Filomena Almeida (F X Almeida), Jack
