

Celebrating the Heart of Goa in New Delhi
"Goenkarancho Ekvot" in association with Dept. of Tourism, Govt. of Goa will organise the Goa Festival 2009 in New Delhi from November 6th to November 8, 2009. The festival will exhibit various aspect’s of Goan life, culture and progress.
The other Departments participating are Dept. of Information and Publicity, Dept. of Handicrafts, Dept. of Art and Culture as well as Dept. of Rural Development.
Hon’ble Justice V.S. Sirpurkar, Judge Supreme Court of India, will inaugurate the festival and Mr Digambar Kamat, Chief Minister of Goa will preside over the function.
This festival is expected to attract huge crowds from Delhi and the adjoining states apart from the participation of VIPs and dignitaries.
The various activities envisaged in this year’s event shall comprise of Information centre for details on Goa such as its art & culture, travel & tourism, display and sale of Goan Handicrafts, goan vegetarian and non-vegetarian cuisine and processed foods, cultural shows, live music by Goan bands, painting competition by school children on the theme "Goa", lucky draws with holiday packages to Goa and exciting games for the children.

As in the past, Goenkarancho Ekvot celebrated World Goa Day on 23rd August 2009- Sunday at Fr.Agnels' School Auditorium, Goutam Nagar, New Delhi as 20th August 2009 was a working day.
The Tietre" Ek Dhago Sukhacho" (a string of happiness) by Shri Anil Pednekar
was performed
Ek Dhago Sukhacho is a touching family tale which brings a teardrop or two to
one's eyes as the story progresses to its climax. The comedy of this play is just superhit keeping the audience in splits right through the beginning till the end.
It was an ocassion to bring Goans together. The Tiatre was appreciated and
acclaimed by the distinguished audience of the Goans and the Konkani loving people of Delhi and nearby states like Haryana and U.P.
