GOA's FAMOUS PLAYBACK SINGER ADOLF TO FEATURE IN

COMEDIAN PHILIP'S 3D KONKANI MUSICAL SHOW "ANI, ANIK ZAIEM"

Goa’s famous playback singer ADOLF (of Konkani film Bhureantlo Music fame) is one of the top singers for Comedian Philip’s 3D Konkani Musical Show titlted “Ani, Anik Zaiem?” which is scheduled on 9^th September 2011 at the American International School auditorium at Maidan Hawalli, Kuwait.  Adolf Fernandes’ singing career spans from for almost three decades in Kuwait for which he sang for the famous Goan musical bands “Hot Sand” and later “Top Ranks”.  “There was no show without us”, he beams with a smile.  We used to get all the top shows and that there never was a big show in Kuwait without “Top Ranks”.  Adolf was the first to start playing Konkani songs for the social events here in Kuwait. Earlier this Bombay-based singer jammed up with Kuwait’s one of the topmost musician Socorro D’Mello for couple of shows and also with Top Ranks.   Together with his better half, Cynthia Fernandes ex-Phantom Revival who played in Taj  Mahal Hotel, Mumbai for fifteen years, and was a hot favorite and most sought after band on the Mumbai’s  Wedding Scenes when they came out from Taj I saw the great  Braz Gonsalves (world renowned Jazz Musician who played for Jazz festivals in Europe representing India) mesmerized at one wedding which I was present when Cynthia sang Wind Beneath my Wing.  The couple does not hesitate to go off with an opportunity to sing together – be it a social event or a private celebrations, among friends.  Adolf sang with Chris Perry in Dubai for a brief period before returning back to Kuwait, as well as with the renowned Monsarrat Bros in Goa who produced the Konkani audio presentation titled “Hello Lorna”.  Adolf  mesmerized singers on another audio cassette called “Lambada In Goa” together with Lawrence De Tiracol and  with Lorna Cordeiro in yet another audio cassette called “Besaum” (in which he recorded two duets with Lorna and a solo performance).  Adolf works as a senior sales executive for Liner services with Inchcape Shipping Services in Kuwait.   He delighted the audiences in Kuwait Goa Tiatristanchi Sonvstha (KGTS) Konkani Mega musical shows in the past and to his credit, he has the unique distinction to render songs with Jose Rod as well as with Lorna in Kuwait.  Adolf was the star singer for the cultural presentation put up by Goan Cultural Centre during the Global Goan Convention 2010 held in Kuwait under the auspices of the Goa NRI Felicitation Centre at Crowne Plaza Hotel and completely astounded the delegates attending from over 15 countries with his immortal Konkani hits 'Nokre' ani "Adeus".  He considers his favourite musician and idol, the late Chris Perry who produced the hit Konkani film in 1977 titled Bhureantlo Munis" and also composed the lyrics and the music which propelled him into the world of 'playback singers' and carving his name on the Konkani film circuit.
